Learn About The Blackberry Storm 3

Recent News | Posted by Frank W.
Feb 05 2011

Blackberry launched into the touch-screen realm with its Blackberry Storm, which followed on the heels of the Torch 9800, which had its platform as a slider phone. The Storm 2 sports a 3.25” touch-screen and 256 MB of memory, upgraded to 2 GB with a media card. The Storm 3 will use a “virtual” QWERTY keyboard and may have similar dimensions, but there are rumors of a 3.7” touch screen. Blackberry is working hard to dominate the smartphone market, and Torch users will have a lot to consider prior to upgrading to Blackberry’s latest offering.

At time of this writing the Storm 3 has not yet been released so it is difficult to make a detailed comparison, but initial reports indicate that the storm may be smaller and lighter than previous Torch models, and will likely be on par with the current Storm 2 model. As with the Storm 2, the Storm 3 will undoubtedly have a virtual keyboard. The Torch 9800 utilizes a slide out QWERTY keypad as well as a virtual keypad.

Some of the mobile connectivity options associated with the Storm 3 will make it more functional than the Torch 9800. The Storm 3 will likely be a world edition smartphone that will make it more useful across a range of networks. There is also talk that the Storm 3 will function as a mobile hotspot allowing other devices to connect to the Internet through the phone. If this is the case, 4G functionality will be an important feature for the Storm 3. The Storm 3 will have 802.11n Wi-Fi functionality.

The Storm 3 may use the Blackberry OS 6.0 just as its Storm brethren and the Torch 9800 do, or as rumors suggest there may be an upgrade to Blackberry OS 7.0. There will be some specific customization in place for the Storms capabilities however. There will not be any other operating system available for the Storm 3. The Storm units and the Torch 9800 will take advantage of a native Webkit from Research in Motion, and this is considered the best web enabling software for these units. There is talk of a 5 mega-pixel camera to be offered with the Storm 3, and there are also rumblings of an 8 mega-pixel camera.

The Storm and Storm 2 already have plenty of features to convince a Torch user that an upgrade is necessary, and with the features touted by the Storm 3, there is a good chance that Torch users may hold out until its release.

A Look At The Blackberry Storm 3

Recent News | Posted by Frank W.
Dec 10 2010

As a series of full screen cell phones with virtual keyboards suck up the smartphone market share, Blackberry has no intention of backing up. Instead, they have the Blackberry Storm 3 as an answer to the likes of the iPhone and full screen HTC models. The Blackberry Storm 3 has a full screen display and a virtual keyboard that replaces its long-standing physical keyboard.

Judging from the capabilities and functions in the Storm 3, it seems that Blackberry has intentions of deviating from its focus in business phones and expanding into the multimedia smartphone market. One thing that remains consistent though, is the trademark design of the Blackberry. The Storm 3 looks identical to its predecessor (Storm 2) with its warm curves and black color. It is, however, slightly taller, slimmer and much younger.

The full screen smartphone has a snappy 1Ghz processor that operates on the long anticipated Blackberry 6 OS. The new OS offers a friendlier interface that places strong emphasis on multimedia and social networking. As a result, the Blackberry Storm 3 is capable of viewing social network updates, RSS feeds and instant messages in one place. The new web browser is also a great addition to the OS as it accurately renders websites and offers tabbed browsing.

A friendlier interface will easily be noticed when you turn on the Blackberry Storm 3. This customizable graphical-interface comes with a set of modern icons that replace the outdated ones. As a result, the Storm 3 will easily appeal to a wider range of people that includes young adults.

The AMOLED 3.7 inch capacitive touchscreen came is an unexpected surprise. This signifies a huge leap in the display technology offered by Blackberry. Nevertheless, it is a joyful experience viewing images and videos on the large and vibrant screen. The 8 megapixel camera also produces great image quality with hi resolutions.

A majority of Storm 2 lovers are expected to rejoice, as one of the innovative features that Blackberry retains from the Storm 2 is the Surepress technology. Users are able to utilize the clickable touchscreen that effectively reduces the downsides of full touchscreen cell phones (accidental clicking).

A large number of positive changes have been implemented in the Blackberry Storm 3. It is undeniable that with these new changes in place, Blackberry cell phones seem to be much more interesting and entertaining. The exceptional multimedia capabilities also prove that RIM has the ability to breakthrough barriers and address the concerns of Blackberry fans.

The Nokia N8 – Information & Advice

Recent News | Posted by Frank W.
Oct 16 2010

As one of the biggest names in the mobile market, Nokia has never seemed to quite transfer their success elsewhere into their smartphones. They seem to have had more near misses than big hits, and with the Apples and HTC’s seemingly unable to put a foot wrong, Nokia has needed to come up with something impressive for a while now, in order to avoid getting left behind – could the Nokia N8 be the answer? With massive improvement in a whole host of areas, does the N8 put Nokia back in the game?

Out of the box, the N8 looks pretty impressive. There’s none of the bulk and clumsy looking design that has been the downfall of so many Nokia phones. Instead, the N8 is quite sleek and slender, maybe not as thin as some of the other smartphones, but certainly not fat. And the neat design works with the colored aluminum case to give you the impression of a high quality, modern smartphone. Interestingly for a Nokia, there is no way of removing the battery, which helps with the appearance, and shows Nokia’s confidence in their new operating system that none of the forced resets, that earlier smartphones were prone to, will be needed.

The N8 has a good sized, but not outstanding, 3.5 inch touchscreen display, and while this might be considered average, the camera in the N8 is anything but. At 12 megapixels it’s one of the best phone cameras in the world, in fact Nokia are comfortable claiming it is the best. What’s is certain is that it is an incredible piece of technology to be packed into such a compact and good looking phone. Whether Nokia is trying to make a bit of a statement, or has finally decided to push the boundaries of technology in their mobiles, is unsure, but with additional features like a xenon flash and full 720p hi definition video recording it is certainly grabbing people’s attention. There’s even a mini HDMI output so you can play your videos on your HD TV.

Nokia was keen to make sure the N8 wasn’t just a one trick pony, and the amazing camera is only part of the N8’s story. It also gets a new operating system, being the first phone to offer the Symbian 3 platform. A powerful processor makes sure everything zips along nicely, and with 16GB of storage for your music files, and an attractive player to make the most of them, the N8 certainly has a few more tricks up its sleeve.

You’d probably struggle to name any of Nokia’s previous phones that were genuine smartphones, but the Nokia N8 looks certain to get people’s attention. Whether it will challenge the likes of the iPhone 4 and the HTC Desire remains to be seen, but it certainly looks like the best thing Nokia has done in a long time.

Many times your caller ID will identify both a name and a number when someone calls your home. However, there are other times, especially if the caller is a cell phone number that it may only give a city where the phone is registered. If you want to know whom that number belongs to, you need to do a people search by phone number.

If you do a quick search for a reverse phone directory on the internet, you will find that there are many of these services listed. Some even offer to do a free search.

If you enter the number into the free service, you may get results that say that they have the information on the number, but to get that information you need to pay a fee. So much for free.

There are some services that will actually give the owner of the phone at no charge. However, they often do not offer cell numbers. In addition, there are times you will get information that is out of date.

Another alternative is a service that tells you up front that they charge for their services. However, they offer a guarantee that you will get current information about the number. Either you get the correct information or you can get your money back. Additionally, for a small fee, they offer a year long subscription the their service that lets you use it as many times during the year as needed.

Having a service that gives accurate data is important if you are trying to catch a cheating spouse. It also gives you the opportunity to check to see whom your teens are talking with on the phone. This may allow you to head off trouble before it begins.

People search by phone number will let you know for certain who that caller is who keeps calling but does not leave a message.
